A MAN bearing a wound to his leg was found at Park Street, Port of Spain, yesterday and taken by police to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The police are not saying if the man, identified as 37-year-old David Cooper, had been deliberately stabbed or if he sustained his injury while running from three men, as told to the police by eyewitnesses.
Police said at 12.30 p.m., they were alerted about a bleeding man lying on the pavement on Park Street.
Officers went to the scene and conveyed the bleeding man to the hospital.
Police said when they spoke to people nearby they were told Cooper was seen running from three men, during which he jumped over the fence at Victoria Square and sustained a large gash to his leg.
Cooper kept on running, then fell and remained on the pavement until he was taken to hospital.
